This is really cool -- I bought a used Japanese car a couple of weeks ago from www.japanesevehicles.com. It's a 2000 Corolla with about 90,000 km on it. Here's a picture:
OK, so it's not the world's fanciest car, but it was cheap. As in $2100. Can't beat them apples!
So the car was put on a boat in Yokohama, and is now steaming its way towards Pakistan. How do I know? Because, thanks to the miracle of GPS technology, I can track it, in real time. Let's just hope it doesn't sink, since I opted not to pay the extra $50 for "sinking of ship" insurance!

A long weekend in Kathmandu...
So this past weekend, I traveled to Kathmandu, Nepal, to visit Amita. It was my first time in this Himalayan Kingdom, and, while the trip was relatively short (3.5 days, all told), Amita made sure that it was packed with all sorts of good stuff. From the moment I landed (and she handed me a warm burrito) to the moment I took off (still dusty from hiking in Nagarkot), it was a great, fun-filled experience...
Descending into the
mists, on the ride down from Kakani...
